After spending a long time searching for the lyrics to the song "glorious day" by Amsterdam, we found them on a music forum, under the name "the glorious day" by Amsterdam
We will be looking at these lyrics closely, and adapting our video using these lyrics, and trying to relate the lyrics to the video.

Our Pitch

The song that we are creating our music video for, "Glorious Day" by Amsterdam. The song has an upbeat theme to it,we have found some videos that we think are quite similar, and have a similar style to this song.
Our initial ideas for the video to this song were images of a young girl , or a group of girls walking along a beach singing the song , along with a choreographed dance routine.






The music video to Peter Andre- "mysterious girl" features a woman walking along a beach, we thought that this was a good example of demonstrating how we wanted our video to look.

After listening to the song " Glorious Day "

we watched some popular music videos and we picked out som effects in different videos that we particulary liked.

The first music video we watched was

Chris Brown-With You

• In this video we liked the way that the jumper that the artist is wearing constantly changes colours as he dances, in this picture the jumper is blue, but as the video continues the colours variate to pink, purple etc. We think that this is a subtle thing to put into this music video, but it is however, very effective

The second video we watched was

Black Eyed Peas- I Got A Feeling

• In this video we liked the slow motion

points in it, as we felt these were effective

and fitted in with both the style of music, and

the pace of it.

• Another thing we liked about this video

was the use of the uv paint in the club scene,

we felt as thought we may be able to use an

effect such as this for our music video, as it

has appeared to

work well here.

The third music video we watched was

Get Sexy-Sugababes

The things we liked about this video were

• The lighting effects used at the

beginning of this video, we felt as though

the shapes created by the sillhouettes of

the performers were good in creating

a sense of mysteriousness, unknowingness

about the video.

• We liked this effect and are

considering using it, or something similar

to it in our video

We won't be using all of these effects in our music video, we do however like these ideas and think they will help us in coming up with original ideas, and effects for our music video.

Mood Board

This was the mood board that we made for the song "Glorious Day -Amsterdam". The reason we used the landscape photographs was because we felt as though it fitted in well with the pace of the song , and the general upbeat theme.
The drum picture was used due to the fact that the song has a steady drumbeat throughout. Then the photographs of the housewife, the students, and the bankers on top of the globe, are in our mood board because these occupations are mentioned in the song, about halfway through.
The photograph at the bottom centre of the mood board is a screen grab from the film "Mamma Mia" , we put this in because we felt as though the intro of the song reminded us of the film.
